Ava H.
Ava is an ardent environmentalist and a senior at Lane Tech. She created F(earth)er Magazine in order to help individuals learn more about the environment in an unconventional manner, by incorporating a variety of people's interests. Ava is deeply invested into educating herself and others on environmental issues and has read many environmental books and journal articles. In her free time, she loves playing tennis, running, photography, and making plant-based food recipes. In college, she plans to major in Environmental Studies, striving towards a career in academia, politics, or law that will create effective systemic change to combat the climate crisis and environmental injustice.

Amy E.
Amy is a sophomore at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign double majoring in Economics and Anthropology. Amy is on Educational Outreach Board of Illinois Space Society, a club on campus. She works to make space and STEM education more accessible. In addition to teaching kids about space, Amy loves dancing, playing the violin, traveling, and swimming with her friends.

Julia is a senior at Northside. When she’s not organizing with the Sunrise Movement, she can be found going on a run, thrifting, or painting on something that doesn’t need to be painted on. Diana is a senior at Lane Tech and is interested in philosophy, biology, and research. As a free spirit, she enjoys running cross country and track. Personally, Diana believes that responsibility concerning the environment lies within ourselves and everyone's day-to-day practices. However, marketers has portrayed the sustainable movement as an exclusive lifestyle. Diana strives to dissuade readers from this facade, in order to promote the sustainability movement as an inclusive environment where every individual is acknowledged.

Rahal is a senior at Lane Tech and is in Muslim Club, Environmental Club, and is a STARS Mentor. She loves to educate others , read about astrology (she is a Pisces), and plant vegetables for her pet rabbits. She is planning to major in Psychology to become a clinical psychologist. As a strong advocate for mental health, Rahal is creating an Instagram page that educates others on various mental illnesses. Rahal decided to join F(earth)er because she is interested in helping to raise awareness on current environmental issues.

Marisa is a junior at Lane Tech. As part of the Alpha program, she conducts science fair experiments yearly, usually concentrating around environmental science and more specifically juglone. As a writer in the F(earther) magazine, Marisa hopes to educate and inform people in Generation Z about new and ongoing scientific research that can immensely impact the future.

She is deeply invested in tennis, guitar, overanalyzing both literature & film, philosophy, computer science, "Future Problem Solvers", and maintaining her 100+ day streak on French Duolingo. As a means of refraining from only generating solutions for futuristic problems and strengthening her environmental activism, she has decided to join F(earth)er Magazine. As a writer for F(earth)er, she is dedicated to perpetuating a culture of inclusivity when it comes to sustainability and utilizing her humanities derived passions towards deconstructing negative notions of who science is for.
